Anders Bäckström is Partner and Chairman of Sphere State Group, which he founded in 2007. He has nearly two decades of experience in business transformation and organisational development across Asia and Europe. 

Anders has held multiple leadership roles at Sphere State Group while also taking on senior interim and advisory assignments. Between 2016 and 2021, he led turnaround and operational improvement programmes for global beverage equipment manufacturers Crem International and Welbilt in the United Kingdom and China.  

From 2021 to 2023, he advised Varmaorka and Baseload Power on low-temperature geothermal energy projects in Iceland. He later joined Baseload Capital in Stockholm, where he focused on operational development, process implementation, and international partner relations to support global scaling of geothermal energy. He has lived and worked for extended periods in China, Spain, the UK, Switzerland, and Scandinavia. Before his business career, Anders served in the Swedish Armed Forces as an infantry squad leader and completed an international mission in Kosovo under NATO/KFOR. 

Anders is fluent in English and Swedish, with basic proficiency in Mandarin, Spanish, and German.
